Introducing ORiON ShareHub: Seamless Ship-to-Shore File Sharing for the Starlink Era

We are excited to announce the launch of our new service, ORiON ShareHub—a modern file-sharing solution engineered for the Starlink and LEO era.

ORiON ShareHub creates dedicated folders on the data server (NAS) within your vessel's network, which automatically sync with cloud storage in the background.

- No PC Software Required: 

Crew do not need to install any software on their individual PCs. Simply access the designated NAS folders as part of their standard daily routine to send and receive files.

- Ship-to-Shore Transfer: 

To send large files or bulk data from the vessel to the shore office, crew simply copy the files into the designated NAS folder. The system automatically syncs these files with the cloud space in the background.

- Shore-to-Ship Transfer: 

Office staff can instantly retrieve files by accessing vessels' folders on the company's shore-side NAS. Likewise, when shore staff drop files into a specific vessel folder or a commonly-shared folder, those files are automatically delivered to the target vessels.

- Zero Manual Effort: 

All cloud synchronization happens automatically in the background without requiring any specialized commands or manual upload steps.

- High-Speed Local Access: 

ORiON ShareHub operates as a synced drive on the vessel's local network. Crew access speeds are never affected by upstream satellite connections.

- Uninterrupted Offline Functionality: 

Standard cloud storage services (such as SharePoint or Google Drive) become completely inaccessible during connectivity outages. With ORiON ShareHub, users can continue to view, create, and edit files in the synced NAS folder even when satellite upstream communication is down.

- Automatic Resynchronization: 

Any files created or edited while offline will automatically re-sync with the cloud the moment satellite communication is restored.

- Flexible Communications Support: 

Sync speeds can be adjusted to ensure smooth operation across both LEO (such as Starlink) and traditional VSAT environments.

- No New Equipment Required On Board: 

If your fleet is already using QNAP NAS units provided by ORCA, you can use your existing hardware as-is. There is no need to purchase new equipment.
