Future of Low Earth Orbit Satellite Services

Future of Low Earth Orbit Satellite Services

Thank you very much for your continuous support.
On October 6, 2023, Amazon launched the first two satellites of its satellite internet service, ‘Project Kuiper’.
We would like to share this information with our customers.

This service will compete with SpaceX’s Starlink service, which is currently gaining popularity in the maritime industry.
The antenna mock-up already announced by Amazon includes a mobile antenna that can be used on vessels.
Amazon has announced that it will start the service by the end of 2024.

With the entry of Amazon, the low-orbit satellite communication services available for vessels are expected to be the following three:

-Starlink
-OneWeb
-Amazon (service name undecided)

We believe that this increase in options is a good trend for everyone in the maritime industry.

For vessels that have introduced our product, ORiON Plus, an environment is in place where these low-orbit satellite services can be freely combined and used.
It is very beneficial for our customers to be able to choose services freely, not completely dependent on one service, and switch according to the situation of each vessel.

If you have any questions about installing an onboard internet environment using the new vessel communication environment,
please feel free to consult us.

Thanks & best regards.
