Connection between the ORiON Plus and a low orbit satellite (SpaceX)

Dear customers,

Thank you very much for your continuous support.

Starlink, a low orbit satellite service by Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (hereafter referred to as SpaceX), founded by Mr. Elon Musk, has started its service in Japan.
The service aims to provide satellite Internet services worldwide at low cost by deploying several thousand low orbit satellites.
In the maritime shipping industry, it is expected that this service can be used as a next-generation vessel communication infrastructure.

In conjunction with the launch of this service in Japan, we tested the connection between our product ORiON Plus and Starlink.
Here are the results.

ORiON Plus is designed to allow vessels to use all types of communication infrastructure, including FX, VSAT, FBB, Iridium, and 4G in various countries,
and we have confirmed that this can also connect to SpaceX's Starlink as we had expected.
Please refer to the following chart for the measured connection speed of Starlink.

Starlink's service coverage in Japan is still limited (only areas north of East Japan), and Starlink Maritime's service coverage for maritime is not yet full ocean.
The service fee is expected to change frequently in the future.

We will continue to monitor developments in new communications infrastructure for vessels and report any new services as they emerge.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Best regards,
