Thank you for your continuous support as always.

Nowadays, the number of vessel which has been offered with internet service and new system for big data processing has been increased by the growth of the broadband for maritime.

Meanwhile, some vessel are facing a serious problem in using business LAN by using an internet and processing big data, since the communication line onboard is only single LAN infrastructure.

To avoid this poor situation, although equipping multiple LAN infrastructure is most desirable, we understand it difficult not only for existing vessels but also for newly built vessels in the future to do so, since it’s almost impossible to predict about all systems installed onboard in the future.

To deal with this situation, we have developed “ORiON-L2 ”as a new breakthrough product.

This ORiON-L2 is “L2 switch (Layer 2 switch)” enables only single LAN infrastructure to be separated into VLAN (virtual LAN) freely.

For instance, you can separate single LAN line into “Business LAN”, “Crew LAN”, “Machinery LAN”. Moreover, you can control with communication speed and order of priority of each LAN and achieve suitable communication environment as you wish.

Different from usual "L2 switch", "ORiON-L2" can do communication control work in conjunction with upstream ORiON Plus router from onshore.

For this system, you can control IT network environment onboard from onshore remotely.

Due to high demands from widespread such as owners, management companies, flags states, class of classification societies, IT network onboard is sometimes getting more complex than that of onshore.

To meet the demands, you need to have professional network knowledge and skills and also have to prepare not only normal machine but also special one for IT network onboard.
