Regarding ORiON Plus implementation of vessel-PC automatic diagnostic function

Dear Customers,

Nowadays the need for the security risk measures has grown in the Maritime IT. We have pursued the efficiency of vessel’s IT security management. As part of this effort, we would like to announce that vessel-PC automatic diagnostic function will be implemented into ORiON Plus router.

This automatic diagnostic system is composed of diagnostic program being incorporated into vessel-PC and the diagnostic result will be sent to onshore cloud system by automatic transmission function of ORiON Plus.

In respect to vessel-PC, the automatic diagnostic program will gather information on the following items on a regular basis.

・Hardware information such as CPU, memory, etc.

・Hard disk status (disk activity ratio, defective cluster, etc.)

・Network information

・Peripheral information device 

・Installed information program 

・Antivirus information

・Program execution on memory

・Entire system processing speed

These collected information will be automatically uploaded to our cloud system and will allow us to grasp vessel-PC status from shore.

Our N-OASYS service estimates the operating life of vessel-PC by using this scheme. This will enable setting up appropriate replacement plan and promote cost reduction of vessel-PC maintenance by detecting the problematic PC before trouble occurrence.

The transition to this automatic diagnostic function will be implemented for shipped vessel-PC and ORiON Plus router in October of 2017. In respect to vessels already installed with ORiON Plus router, upcoming updates for functions as needed are expected to be implemented.
