Optimal Routing in communications
ORiON Plus comes with the function of optimal routing in communications.
Choose the optimal communication of currently available communication infrastructure and switching will be performed automatically.
It includes not only for satelite communications, but also switch to available 3G/4G communications when docking and navigation at sea.
Although the switching system of many carriers can only choose their corporate communications infrastructure, Orca's advantage is in the establishment of carrier-independent communications system.
Data traffic monitoring system
Under the framework of expensive satellite communications, prevention of unintended communication problems is an important issue for each maritime company. However, based on actual occurrence of data transmission volume related survey, the reality is that there is no choice but to rely on the requests of carriers.
In addition to switching to each communication infrastructure, ORiON Plus maintains each communication infrastructure's utilization records and supports issues caused by accidental transmission. Please refer to it as a numerical basis associated with accidental transmission on the shipping company side.
ORiON DRIVE
ORiON DRIVE is a cloud drive technology available between ship and shore. Unlike most cloud storage, optimized to suit speed of vessel satellite communications and drive synchronization is designed in order to not affect other important communications such as business e-mail.
Even though VSAT/FX is spreading, its communications speed is less than 5% of land-based communications. ORiON DRIVE works as the most effective cloud type drive for special maritime IT circumstances.
Vessel and company can share data by synchronizing.
Ticket System
The ticket System is a simple and effective way to use appropriate communication on the vessel.
Communication traffic can be managed properly by captain's distribution of Ticket.
The number of tickets issued and capacity can be cloud managed.
Unlike the method of using an ID and password, the biggest feature is that captain's management burden is extremely low. The captain is not required to make registration or editing for newly arrived crew.
Ticket System can be used as a function of ORiON Plus.
Onboard PC condition monitoring
ORiON Plus provides a function to monitor onboard PC condition. In addition to each PC's network information, it collects dozen types of information (OS updates status, software introduction condition, HDD health) and determines PC health with ORCA's original evaluation technology.
PC status can be managed from ORiON CLOUD which can be helpful for PC maintenance operation planning.
Cloud type ship mailing system
Our ORiON Plus e-mail, unlike conventional mailing systems, is a next generation vessel mailing system that retains data in the cloud.
Even if onboard PC error occurs, past communication records will not disappear as it is fault tolerant.
Vessel network separation technology
Elements involved in vessel networking grow daily. Wide variety of communications,other than for general business purposes, such as ship operation information gathering, ECDIS data update, surveillance camera system, vessel device remote maintenance will route through onboard network.
In order to use communication infrastructure as independent network respectively where each system will not affect each other, ORCA has achieved the separation of onboard network with a special device called ORiON L2.
ORiON L2 operates in cooperation with ORiON Plus to achieve the separation without additional onboard LAN wiring. This system is required for server security precautions.
